“Making” fulfils a basic human need for sensory experience. It also enables students to develop important forms of knowledge and skills which are unavailable to them in other school subjects. Furthermore, it provides an intuitive approach to acquiring knowledge, through hands-on experience with material. Making an artefact from start to finish teaches a sense of responsibility, perseverance and habits of sustained work, others valued its role in developing ‘higher order thinking skills’ such as problem solving, imagination and ideas generating.
DT Club aims at providing students chances to have an experience of being a “Maker”.
