“The READmarkables” Outdoor Reading Challenge Day
Date: 06/03/2026
On a beautiful, sunny afternoon, a group of seven teachers and students from our school participated in the "Read and Joy: Outdoor Reading Challenge Day" organized by the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau. We visited various pavilions at Ocean Park for on-site field studies and completed a series of learning activities.
The event was both challenging and engaging. Prior to the visit, students participated in an online briefing and reviewed e-reading materials to enhance their understanding of biodiversity and conservation. On the day of the event, various challenge tasks were designed to test students' responsiveness, observation skills, and teamwork. These tasks encouraged students to integrate knowledge from reading materials with real-time information from the exhibits, allowing them to truly experience the joy of reading across different media—perfectly echoing the theme "Read and Joy."
With their active participation and seamless collaboration, our students were honored with the "Excellence in Reading Award." Not only did they enjoy an unforgettable day of learning and gain a deeper understanding of Ocean Park’s educational resources, but they also heightened their environmental awareness and understood the vital role of ecological conservation in national and social development.
We hope our students will continue their efforts and actively participate in diverse reading activities, truly integrating reading into their daily lives.
