Christmas Stage after the Storms – Inter-house Cheerleading Competition
Date: 23/12/2025
In a year filled with challenges and unexpected changes, the Inter-house Cheerleading Competition, originally scheduled for September, faced multiple postponements due to poor weather conditions, leaving the enthusiastic cheerleading members both disappointed and discouraged. Despite these setbacks, the spirit of the cheerleading teams from the six houses remained strong as they adapted to the evolving situation. Ultimately, they delivered an impressive performance during the Christmas variety show, which became a testament to perseverance and teamwork. Their successful showcase highlighted the dedication and resilience of all involved.
Reflection by House Captain Representative: 4M Bults Isa Willemina Maria
This year, our sports day had been postponed many times due to poor weather conditions, and our cheerleading performances were forced to be changed again and again. This journey to get back on track was much bumpier than we thought.
From summer to winter, our plans have been altered again and again. Every time I had to notify our cheerleading team, it made me sad that everyone had to experience this once more, requiring of their time to practice. Each time, I wondered how best to break the news. Beyond perseverance, this experience taught me that it wasn’t just about insisting that “the show must go on”, but about the understanding that “even if timing changes, we will still stand here together.”
All the mornings and afternoons we spent on practicing, the last-minute changes to our formations, and every time someone stumbled during practice, with everyone lauging together – I remember them all.
Being able to finally perform during the Christmas variety show was a long-awaited gift. In the meantime, I realized that the real gift has been the journey itself. My housemates and I have come to understand that it wasn't solely about getting every move perfect, it was about our choice to stay, to work together, and to find something real and beautiful even in the chaos.
I thank everyone for walking with me through the story that refused to be blown away by the wind. I'm so thankful for everyone who showed up when it would have been easier not to. No matter how many years from now, this experience will always hold a special place in my heart.
